About Jan Aushadhi Paricharcha:

• On the second day of Janaushadhi Diwas Week, Jan Aushadhi Mitra and Jan Aushadhi Kendra owners collaborated with doctors, hospitals, clinics and other stakeholders to host Jan Aushadhi Paricharcha.
• During this Paricharcha, doctors and other stakeholders were informed about the salient features and objectives of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP).
• They were also informed that BPPI procures medicines only from World Health Organization – Good Manufacturing Practices (WHO-GMP) certified suppliers for ensuring the quality of the products.
• Apart from this, each batch of drug is tested at laboratories accredited by ‘National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories’ (NABL). Only after passing the quality tests, the medicines are dispatched to PMBJP Kendras.
• Theme of Janaushadhi Diwas Week, 2021: Sevabhi – Rozgar bhi”.

• Ministry: Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.
• Lanch: 2015 (It is a modification of Jan Aushadhi Campaign launched in 2008).
• Objective: To provide quality medicines at affordable prices to the masses. Jan Aushadhi stores have been set up to provide generic drugs, which are available at lesser prices but are equivalent in quality and efficacy as expensive branded drugs.
• Bureau of Pharma PSUs of India (BPPI) is the implementation agency for

• It works under the Department of Pharmaceuticals.
• The Bureau has been registered as an independent society under the societies Registration Act, 1960 as a separate legal identity in 2010.
