Why in news?
- Union Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj launched Climate Resilience Information System and Planning (CRISP-M) tool for Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee (MGNREG) Scheme.
- It will be used for the integration of climate information in Geographic Information System (GIS) based watershed planning under the MGNREG Scheme under the MGNREG Act (MGNREGA).
- The tool will be used in seven states wherein the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the Government of the United Kingdom, and Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India are jointly working towards climate resilience.
oThe states are Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Rajasthan.
